2. AMOUNT OF THE SOCIALIST FOOD COUPON
The monthly amount to be paid as the Socialist Food Coupon to workers employed in the public and private sectors is now Bs. 200,000.00
3. OBLIGATION
Employers in the public and private sectors must make the necessary adjustment to this benefit and pay their workers the amount to which they are entitled for the Socialist Food Coupon.
Article 3 of the Decree expressly states that the Socialist Food Coupon has no wage-related effects; therefore, no deductions may be made from this amount except for those expressly authorized by the workers for the purchase of goods and services under the framework of the social programs and missions for the satisfaction of their needs.
Moreover, Article 4 of the Decree provides that the adjustment of the amount is mandatory regardless of the number of workers employed by each employer.
4. COMPLIANCE METHODS
Employers in the public and private sectors who pay this benefit using one of the systems provided for in Article 4, sections 1 through 4, of the Executive Decree Enacting the Socialist Food Coupon Act, must do so by providing an electronic food-coupon card or, preferably, coupons issued by a financial institution or establishment that specializes in the administration and management of social benefits.
5. EFFECTIVE DATE
The effective date of this Decree is January 1, 2020.
